The purpose of the Betting Corner is to define and describe the characteristics of bets that can be placed on each race.  Beginning with the most simple bets, “Win, Place, or Show”, the learning progresses incrementally to more complicated wagers throughout the program.  Novice racing enthusiasts who use the FasTrack program have consistently said that it would have taken them years to understand the many bets while with the help of FasTrack they were able to place exotic wagers with confidence their first day at the track!

The 3 most basic bets in horseracing are WIN, PLACE or SHOW. Selecting a horse to WIN means you want the horse to finish first.  Betting a PLACE means you want the horse will finish first or second, and betting a SHOW means you want the horse to finish first, second, or third. So, if you bet on a horse to Show, your bet will pay if that horse finishes in the top three.

Remember that your bet will pay more if your desired outcome is less likely to succeed. Betting a horse to WIN will pay more than betting a horse to SHOW, because the chances of winning a WIN bet are less likely than then the chances of winning a SHOW bet.
